John Martino, data privacy and business attorney at Buchan & Cardamone in Monmouth County, New Jersey

John Martino | Data Privacy, AI Governance & Business Attorney

John Martino is of counsel to Buchan & Cardamone. His practice is concentrated in data privacy compliance, AI governance, business law, and outside general counsel work for companies that need experienced legal judgment without the cost of a full-time hire.

Admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2005, John opened his own boutique general practice firm the same year, handling real estate, business, employment, and municipal matters for New Jersey clients. He then crossed into the enterprise technology industry, where he spent nearly two decades. He began that career at Oracle as a contracts manager, negotiating software and technology licensing agreements across the company's partner base, before moving into commercial roles at Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and other technology companies, eventually serving in roles as senior as chief revenue officer and chief executive officer.

That combination shapes how he practices. John has spent years on the business side of the table, negotiating the same agreements he now reviews and drafting the same commercial terms his clients live under. He has also founded and run businesses of his own outside the practice of law, and has built multiple AI products, giving him working fluency in the data flows and AI systems that privacy and governance work now turns on. He is the author of ARMBAR: The Leverage Blueprint for Sales Mastery, which reached number one on Amazon's New Releases list in Training in April 2025.
